What your Animal Totem Means – Part 1

Based on statistics, there are a lot of people who want to learn more about their Animal spirits, and totems. Using online sources, and my favorite book Animal Speak” by Ted Andrews, I have compiled a group of commonly search animal totems.

These totems can appear in a vision, or in reality. If a lizard crosses your path, it may not be inconsequential.

In part 1, we explore, the Blue Jay, Owl, Bear, Dolphin, Panther and Horse.

Exploring your Connection with your Animal Spirit – Part II

So your animal spirit appeared to you during your meditation time. Now what? I know why I am asking you? I’m suppose to be explaining this to you. Well to be honest, all I can do is tell you the different meanings of the different animals based on my experience and my readings.

Let’s take an example. Let’s say a squirrel appeared to you. You’re probably thinking, “a squirrel? of all the possible animals, I get a squirrel?” Remember you don’t pick the animal, the animal picks you. Its all part of the “don’t force it” issue. So a squirrel, what does it mean? What is the meaning behind the squirrel. Exploring your Connection with your Animal Spirit – Part I

Aside from knowing your power animal as an animal you are already fond of, you can use meditation to speak to it. Yes I said “speak” to it. During meditation it is also possible that other animal spirits will make themselves known to you. Don’t get scared, this is not “When animals attack 4″. These spirits carry important messages to help guide you in everyday life. Animal spirit guides have helped me through many difficult times in my life. What’s your Animal Totem?

Native American spirituality assigns traits and meanings to different animals. These animal totems, sometimes called animal spirits or spirit guides, offer guidance to their people in form of visions through the use of dreams and meditation.
